Yes, I've been remiss. But you try living and writing in Turkey AND writing about it at the same time. Anyway, I was asked to write an article about playing hockey here, and it will be published in the April/May edition of USAHOCKEY Magazine (about 500,000 home subscribers!). They have already posted the article and some pictures on their internet site at

Enjoy.

Michael,

I am the Video Coach, and practice goaltender for the ECHL Columbia Inferno professional hockey team. I am also a Senior Instructor with Puckstoppers Goaltending School in London, Ontario. Nearly every year I travel to Istanbul, Turkey for pleasure and business, and for the past 3 years have tried to establish contacts with the Turkish Ice Hockey Federation. As you indicate in "Turkish Delight", in the April/May, 2007 issue of USAH Magazine, it is not so easily done.

I would be very interested in contacting you with regards to Ice Hockey in Turkey. My interest is both in playing coaching and development, as well as Turkish culture... for 10 years I have played Turkish folk music on the saz.

I will be in Turkey for all of next month, May, 2007, and would appreciate the opportunity to contact you about the Turkish hockey scene. I know alittle, and have coached against a former player from the Ankara Police Academy team.

Sincerely,
Ted Monnich
